Located just on the outskirts of Bristol, FEAR at Avon Valley has firmly established itself as one of the UK's ultimate Halloween destinations and a top-tier attraction for horror fans. We visited on Saturday, October 10th, the event was firing on all cylinders, delivering a high-octane night of scares, theatrical performance, and festival atmosphere.

Atmosphere & Street Theatre
The night kicked off in style with a raucous, high-octane opening show featuring large numbers of scare actors who relentlessly terrorised visitors around the central bar area. Beyond the main opening, the roving street team was fantastic throughout the evening—the roaming scare actors were excellent and hilarious, offering noticeably more direct public interaction than in previous years. Their banter and improvised scares kept guests entertained and on edge right across the event hub.
NEW for 2026: The Autopsy
-
The Concept: Following the discovery of 17-year-old Evelyn Grace, visitors join Dr. Calder and Investigator Ryans at Stidham County Mortuary for a post-mortem that unravels into psychological horror. Set in The Exorcism universe, this immersive experience focuses on story over traditional walkthrough scares. Viewer discretion is advised. (Included in RIP Passes; add-on ticket required for standard passes).
-
The Verdict: You are batched in twelves and the experience lasts about 20 minutes. The Autopsy shows great potential with detailed sets and good acting, but suffers from poor pacing and needs more scares and effects. Sound bleed from the main stage outside also disrupted the tension.Â
Our pick of the main Scare Mazes
-
Vita Nova: Day 5,987 of the New World Order sees Omega Industries enforcing compliance through memory-erasing DNA treatments ("Happy is the country with no past"). The clinical setting and fanatical cast hunting down non-conformers created an intense, high-stress walkthrough.
-
X4: Set in 1994, this maze takes you into subterranean tunnels discovered at site Alpha-Vixen One to face 'Project Leo'—an alien entity. Navigating the pitch-black complex while hunted by alien threats delivers a fantastic sci-fi horror rush.
-
Malefica: Into Darkness: Dark, occult, and visually striking, this church-set maze delivered heavy atmospheric effects, relentless jump scares, and outstanding performance energy from its demonic cast.
