Kings Weston Estate
Scenic parkland with historic house
This historic estate offers a fascinating mix of architectural grandeur and wild, unmanicured parkland, perfect for those who enjoy exploring off the beaten track.
The centre-piece is Kings Weston House, an impressive mansion designed by the celebrated architect Sir John Vanbrugh, known for its unique 'arcade' chimneys.
There is no admission charge for the grounds of the Estate. The grounds are open at all times. Kings Weston House is not open to the public, except for special events.
The surrounding grounds feature hidden grottoes, ancient sundials, and scenic woodlands that lead down toward the Severn Estuary.
From the high points of the estate, visitors can enjoy spectacular views across the water to the Welsh hills and the industrial landscape of Avonmouth.
It is a place of quiet discovery, where the layers of 18th-century landscaping have blended into a rugged nature reserve, offering a more tranquil and historic alternative to the city's busier parks.
