Wills Memorial Building
Iconic neo-Gothic university tower
Towering over the top of Park Street, the Wills Memorial Building is a monumental neo-Gothic masterpiece and an iconic symbol of the University of Bristol.
Completed in 1925, it was commissioned by George and Harry Wills as a memorial to their father, Henry Overton Wills III, the university's first Chancellor.
While it serves as a working academic building housing the faculties of Law and Earth Sciences, its grandeur is accessible to the public through highly recommended guided tower tours. Visitors who climb the impressive tower are rewarded with unparalleled panoramic views of Bristol. The tour also grants access to the spectacular Great Hall, with its ornate carved oak ceiling, and the impressive Great George, England’s sixth-largest bell.
For lovers of grand architecture and sweeping city views, this historic landmark offers a deeply impressive and memorable experience.
